In Loving Memory
Remembering the foxes who are always part of this sanctuary
Some foxes stay with us for many years. Some are with us for a shorter time than we hoped. Every one of them matters. In Loving Memory is a place to honor the foxes who have passed, while keeping their names and stories close to the heart of Pawsitive Beginnings. Their lives were not defined only by where they came from. They were defined by who they became once they were safe. Here they were known. They were cared for. They were watched over in the small, daily ways that make sanctuary life real.
Libby
Libby was a force to be reckoned with from the very beginning. From the day she arrived on May 3, 2020, until the day we said goodbye on March 27, 2024, she made one thing abundantly clear — Libby had boundaries, and she expected them to be respected.
She was fierce, independent, and never interested in being anything other than exactly who she was. There was no changing Libby and honestly, we wouldn’t have wanted to. She carried herself with confidence and strength, demanding respect while somehow still capturing hearts along the way.
Behind that strong personality was a fox whose life began on a fur farm, where individuality never mattered. But Libby taught us something important: every animal has their own story, their own personality, and their own way of loving and being loved.
Though our hearts still miss her fiery spirit, we are grateful that her life became about so much more than where it began. She spent her years surrounded by safety, dignity, and people who loved her exactly as she was — attitude and all.
If Libby touched your heart, we invite you to honor her memory — or the memory of an animal who changed your life — by making a donation in their name. Tribute gifts help us continue providing lifetime sanctuary and care for rescued foxes like Libby.
Because the animals who leave paw prints on our hearts deserve to have their stories live on.
Jasper
Jasper’s story didn’t begin with kindness. He was born on a fur farm and was ultimately deemed “useless” because he could no longer breed. For four years, he lived a life where his value was measured by what he could produce rather than who he was.
But Jasper had other plans.
On July 17, 2020, he came home to us and finally got the chance to simply be Jasper — gentle, sweet, quiet, and full of a softness that touched everyone who met him. He traded wire cages for soft ground beneath his feet, fear for safety, and survival for love.
After more than five beautiful years with us, we said goodbye to Jasper on November 23, 2025 after he lost mobility in his hind end. While our hearts still ache from missing him, we are endlessly grateful that his story didn’t end where it began. His life became one of compassion, dignity, and second chances.
If Jasper touched your heart, we invite you to honor his memory — or the memory of an animal who changed your life — by making a donation in their name. Tribute gifts help us continue providing rescued foxes with the lifetime care, safety, and love they deserve.
Because every animal deserves a chance to be remembered not for how they suffered… but for how deeply they were loved.
