Emotional safety, trust-building, and feeling secure.
Understanding limits, space, and respectful connection.
Reflecting on difficult experiences, stress, grief, and life transitions.
Learning how care, responsibility, and protection can support healing.
Who It Is For
The healing program is available through partner schools, nonprofit organizations, youth groups, and community agencies that have their own therapists or mental health professionals supporting participants. Programs may serve trauma survivors, families, community groups, and adults navigating stress, grief, or major life changes. Experiences are offered through partner organizations and are not open to the general public. Organizations and community leaders are encouraged to reach out to discuss availability, intentions, and whether the experience is the right fit for their community.
For individuals and families accompanied by their licensed therapist.
For age-appropriate conversations around empathy, care, and resilience.
For professionals and organizations exploring supportive partnerships.
Animal Welfare First
The sanctuary environment is designed to prioritize both participant comfort and animal welfare. Foxes are never forced into interaction, and participants are never pressured to share more than they are comfortable sharing. The goal is to create a calm, respectful setting where meaningful conversations can happen naturally.
Community Partners
The cornerstone of our program is the Human-Animal Alliance Healing Den — a private therapy office located onsite at Pawsitive Beginnings in Key Largo. It gives our therapy partners a calm, dedicated space to hold private animal-assisted sessions with the foxes, before or after time spent at the sanctuary. We are grateful to the community partners who help make this healing work possible.
Partnerships
Pawsitive Beginnings welcomes conversations with therapists, schools, nonprofits, youth organizations, and community groups interested in educational or healing-focused visits and partnerships. If you are interested in learning more, contact the sanctuary with information about your group and the type of experience you are exploring.
Support the Program
Donations and sponsorships help support the sanctuary care that makes this program possible, including food, habitat upkeep, veterinary care, enrichment, and educational resources.
